24/7 Athletic Trainer Access

We are excited to introduce 24/7 virtual access to an Athletic Trainer. Drayer Physical Therapy is a trusted partner of Beacon Orthopedics and along with Beacon Orthopedics provide the Athletic Training coverage for our events and tournaments. As an extension of that partnership, Kings Hammer families can contact Reed Worthington, our Athletic Trainer through Drayer Physical Therapy to determine the best course of action for your athlete to stay healthy throughout the season. Through Healthy Roster, Reed will be able to provide you with online sports medicine assistance including helping you determine the severity of the injury and the structures involved, advising the proper treatment and education for quick injury recovery and if needed, helping connect you with the proper healthcare provider for further assistance.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest:

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the number one cause of death in the United States for student-athletes during exercise. Caused by a structural or electrical problem associated with the heart, Sudden Cardiac Arrest happens when the heart unexpectedly stops beating and pumping blood. This is why the National Federation of State High School Associations, in partnership withSimon’s Heart, has developed the course Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This course will help you learn and recognize the warning signs and symptoms of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Also included are guidelines for what to do in the critical moments after an individual suddenly collapses in order to save their life, such as calling 9-1-1, starting chest compressions and sending for an AED. So take the free course, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, available on the NFHS Learning Center.
